Bad Gastein
Bad Gastein lies 1000m above sea level, 75 mins South of Salzburg in the beautiful Gastein valley and is the gateway to the stunning Hohe Tauern National Park.
The mountains and the varied opportunities they provide for sporting activities and spectacular panoramas are the regions most obvious attraction, but the town is also justly famous for it’s fabulous thermal baths (with healing waters) and it’s glamorous ‘belle-epoque’ architecture.
In Winter the valley is one of Austria’s best, most extensive and most popular ski areas. In the Gastein valley alone there are over 200km of piste, and in the skiamade region over 860km !
In Summer hikers, bikers, trekkers and climbers revel in the sweet mountain air and uplifting alpine views of the glorious Gastein valley. There is an abundance of great paths to suit all levels.
